Serge’s Birthday, 77 years is worth celebrating!

On November 10th, our friend Serge's birthday was celebrated. We celebrated this birthday at the Cé-la-vi restaurant in Repentigny. Serge had chosen this restaurant because his friend Franco plays there every Sunday night. The restaurant was packed, we celebrated with a sold-out crowd.

The aperitif cocktail was scheduled for 5:15 p.m., but the guests were so eager to see each other again that, by 4:30 p.m., almost all of them had arrived.

Thank you Serge for the good sparkling wine that was served. And yes, it was the birthday boy who offered the aperitif.
We recognize his generosity!

Claude Plante enhanced this moment with the beautiful pieces that he played for us on the accordion.

During the dinner and the evening, Franco gave quite a performance, he knew how to bring a festive atmosphere that everyone greatly appreciated.

Smiles were sparkling. Joy could be seen on everyone's faces. People chatted, sang and ate well. It was a great and successful party that reminded us of the Accordionists' meetings before the pandemic.

Serge thanks you very much for your presence!

During the Expo-sale, on November 10, 2024, two extraordinary accordionists, Mireille Boulanger and Richard Beauvais, delighted with their talent and helped create a magnificent atmosphere during the day.

"Les Cercles de Fermières du Québec" is the largest women's association in Quebec.

Through their actions and the various charitable works they support, the Cercles de Fermières du Québec contribute to improving the living conditions of women and families, as well as to the preservation and transmission of cultural and artisanal heritage.

Wednesday November 20

Hello, I am a member of the Regroupement des Aînés Pierre de Sorel. This group offers several activities including a monthly lunch with a conference or musical performance.

I proposed to the director, for lunch on November 20, a short presentation on the accordion which would be followed by a musical performance by two artists who play on very different accordions. She accepted my project.

I asked Michel Béchard and Serge Duchesne to talk a little about their choice of accordion and especially

to play for the 125 participants of the lunch. It was very much appreciated by all the members!

The Canada Council for the Arts is pleased to announce the winner of the Virginia Parker Prize.

Hearty congratulations to Mickael Bridge, professional accordionist and Rebanks Scholar at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto, Ontario. He is this year's recipient!

The Virginia Parker Prize is awarded to a classical music performer, instrumentalist or conductor under the age of 32 who demonstrates exceptional talent, musicality and artistic merit, and who makes a significant contribution to the artistic life of Canada and abroad.
